Borderland
Towards that exquisite border
Where unsentimental freedoms hover.
Why might there be any hesitation?
Leaving a village,
Our village of fixed fluffy memories,
Was never going to be that easy.
Leaving a family,
Our family of long standing
Was like untying a trussed up knot.
Crossing a border
A border of unknown Uncalculated steep stairs
Was like Untouching grass.
Where do borders, lines, fences,
start and finish?
Which barriers are unsurmountable?
From youth to manhood
Can be a long and loaded trip
The only constant being the
Village heart
The blood of family
Pounding.
